Employees Highly Valued

We are a small locally-owned company whose owner understands the value that each employee brings to the team. Each employee enables us to more fully serve the children and families of our community. We constantly work to increase financial, benefit, and advancement opportunities for SESD employees to make sure that they and their families are cared for.

The company started with all staff as part-time hourly. Since 2015, it has grown to have 22 full-time staff who receive benefits, such as partial health insurance premium, dental, and vision coverage, full short- and long-term disability insurance, full life and accidental dismemberment insurance, and employer matching contribution to a Simple IRA of up to 3% of annual salary.

This Simple IRA and matching contribution is available to all staff – full-time and part-time – from their first day of employment. In addition to benefits provided by the company, employees are also regularly rewarded with perks to further show appreciation, such as gift cards, special events, bonuses, etc. Our goal is to foster a culture where every employee feels appreciated and valued for their contributions to our families and community.

Encouragement to Grow

Our company has a positive and supportive culture that encourages employees to engage in training, education, and experience that will support personal and professional development. In addition to the regular trainings provided by the company, the owner also works with employees to get them the additional training they need. This could be through additional in-person trainings, webinars, or conferences.

Team members are then encouraged to bring this information back and share it with the rest of the team. The newly trained employee and the leadership team work together to determine if and how the new training and skills should be incorporated into SESD’s current practices. This process creates opportunities for clinical staff to grow their skills and also can lead to them growing into different roles specific to the skill sets they have developed.

Additionally, we are a group of professionals who are ambitious in our pursuit of the science of ABA and support each other in developing applied research studies within our practice. As a recent example, some of our team members developed a Stress Management Course for ABA Professionals. Other team members participated in a beta test. Based on the positive results, the team is working together to map out the plan for the expansion of this program
